The Invisible Reality Show

The Invisible Reality Show: Play Now | Play in Popup

You bought a ticket for a performance. You got an address, and a time for appointment… It is now. You enter an antique shop, the shopkeeper tells you to find a book, in the book is a letter addressed personally to you. You step out of the shop and start your journey… you meet things and things will meet you. And there you are, in the midst of the performance. Welcome to The Invisible Reality Show.

The Invisible Reality Show is a series of performative travels: site specific performances that lead the audience one by one or in small groups, through a prepared path which triggers the senses and the intellect. In a surprising and humorous way we offer the public an alternating role of watcher, participant and test person. An interactive performance, a social experiment, serious research, a virtual excursion?

The Invisible Reality Show makes the performance emerge in the mind of the audience and opens up for multiple, personal and exclusive experiences. We use a mixture of visual art, types of performing, sensory experience, kinesthetic experience, audiotapes and interactive principles to do so. With subtle methods, the sensitivity of the audience is increased and simple impulses appear far more intense. The daily reality of the site is used as a “theatre setting” and allows the coincidences to interweave with intended actions.

Mind-sets and reality are juggled around and create confusion, revealing the absurdity of the “normal”, as only one possible convention. It leads to the open question of how reality is created, and what reality is?

An exclusive, deep and unforgettable journey … Step in…

The Invisible Reality Show is a concept, which is applied to different surroundings. Each work is an original and highly site specific. It is created in close dialogue with its surroundings, which brings about a variety of unique works. Each Invisible Reality Show may produce a visual product, which can be shown independently after the show in galleries or other spaces.

“We want you with us not against us.

Well count me out. People are starting to get hurt.

Alright so a few people are getting hurt a long the way but it is for the good of the hole. Why can’t you see that? Look it’s a new system we can make it work.”

[Afsløring af Hitler som lederen]

“Now listen carefully there is no national youth movement.

You thought you were so special. Better than everyone out site this room.

You traded the freedom for the luxury of feeling superior.

You accepted the groups will over your own convictions now matter who you heard.

Oh you thought you were just going a long the ride. That you could just walk away at any moment. But where were you heading? How fare would you have gone?

Take a look at your future.

[Klip fra Nazi tyskland vises]

Yes you would have all made good Nazi’s. You would have put one the uniforms. Turned your heads and allowed your friends and neighbours to be persecuted and destroyed. Fascism is not something those other people did. Cause right here in all of us. You ask. How could the German people do nothing as millions of innocent human beings where murdered? How could the claim they weren’t involved? What causes people to deny there own history? Well if history repeat it self you’ll all wanted to deny what happened to you in ‘The Wave’. But if our experiment is successful we have all learned that we are responsible for our own actions. And that you must question what you do rather than blindly follow a leader. And that for the rest of your lives you will never allow a groups will to seep your individual rights.
I know this has been painful for you. It surdenly has for me. But it is a lesson we will all share for the rest of our lives.”
